According to Ferrazzi, regular praise, evaluation, and feedback are crucial factors that help leaders promote the development of their teams. When employees feel their contributions and efforts are acknowledged, they are more motivated to work more effectively.
Therefore, managers need to establish a systematic and fair evaluation and reward system based on clear criteria. Additionally, they should take the time to provide constructive feedback that helps employees recognize their strengths, weaknesses, and personal development directions.
So, what specific actions can be taken?
Firstly, conduct evaluations based on clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and predefined objectives. This increases objectivity and fairness in the evaluation process. Praise employees when they meet or exceed targets. Publicly acknowledge the outstanding employees to create a sense of recognition within the team.
Next, analyze the strengths of each employee to identify their potential. Learn about their unique strengths, encourage them, and create conditions for them to fully utilize their abilities in their work.
Then, gently address areas for improvement in a positive language. Set clear goals and plans along with suggestions to help them improve.
Regularly monitor the implementation process, listen, and provide timely feedback to help them progress faster. Commend positive changes as they occur.
A specific example within my company is the implementation of a biannual employee competency assessment system. The results serve as the basis for promotions, personnel transfers to more suitable positions, salary increases, or bonuses. Thanks to this system, our employees are always motivated to strive and successfully accomplish the quarterly plans assigned to them.
These are some of my perspectives and experiences on how to praise and conduct regular evaluations to promote team development. I hope you find them useful.
